Blackberry St. Germain Cocktail

Published:  08/04/2017

Have you tried St. Germain yet? If not, you must. I'm obsessed with it!

It's a liquer made from white elderflower blossoms that grow on trees at the foothills of the Alps. Locals handpick the blossoms, which are distilled in small batches into a 100% elderflower blossom 40-proof liqueur made by French artisan company St. Germain. The best way I can think to describe it is that it smells and tastes like sweet lychee, peach, and sweet grapefruit.  It is the perfect liquer for summer cocktails. Prepared simply as an addition to a glass of champagne or with a bit more effort, a well crafted cocktail. This is my favorite recipe. Cheers!

5 fresh blackberries (substitute raspberries if you would like)

1 -1 ½ tsp sugar, depending on how sweet you like your drinks

2 oz. (¼ cup) vodka

1 oz. (2 Tbsps.) St. Germain

1 oz. (2 Tbsp.) freshly squeezed lemon juice

  1. Muddle the blackberries and sugar.
  2. In a shaker, add blackberry muddle, ice, vodka, St. Germain and lemon juice.
  3. Shake vigorously. Strain and serve in a chilled glass.
  4. Garnish with a large sprig of mint.
