Hello! I'm Maria Faires, a dietitian, personal trainer, and mountaineering fitness expert. I have helped hundreds of people from all walks of life achieve the fitness level they need to climb the world's greatest mountains. I am an experienced mountaineer, have climbed most of Washington’s prominent peaks multiple times and I have helped hundreds of people train and successfully summit mountains all over the world through my programs.

As a dietician, I love helping people understand how the right nutrition can fuel their bodies and optimize their performance. And as a mountaineering fitness expert I enjoy helping climbers understand how to train their bodies for the demands of high altitude, can climb stronger, recover faster, and experience the breathtaking beauty of the mountains like never before. As a mountaineering expert I research regularly and update the training plan to reflect the latest science on high altitude training and nutrition.

Whether you're a seasoned mountaineer or just starting out, I offer a monthly training program for those wishing one-on-one assistance. My goal is to make sure you reach the summit feeling confident and accomplished.

XISER STEPPER FOR CARDIO  Training for a mountain takes a lot of time. Even if you do not have access to a gym, there are plenty of other options for in-home and outdoor workouts. One of my favorite options is the Xiser mini stepper machine. It folds to a flat 4-inch piece of metal to fit in your backpack, carry-on, under the desk, etc. The way the hydraulic system is made in Xiser products is totally different from other steppers.  This is the perfect machine for doing high intensity interval workouts!
